Laws & Regulations
Dubai has strict laws that visitors should be aware of. While enforcement for tourists is generally reasonable, it's important to respect local customs.
Alcohol
Only consume in licensed venues (hotels, restaurants). Drinking age is 21. Never drink and drive (zero tolerance). Public intoxication is an offense.
Dress Code
Beach/poolside: swimwear is fine. Malls & public: modest dress preferred. Religious sites: conservative dress required.
Healthcare
Medical Facilities
Dubai has world-class medical facilities with many internationally accredited hospitals. Most doctors and staff speak English. Private healthcare is excellent but expensive - travel insurance is highly recommended.
Pharmacies
Pharmacies are widely available and many are open 24/7. Most common medications are available, but some prescription drugs require documentation.
