History
The Burj Khalifa, standing at 828 meters, was completed in 2010 after six years of construction. Designed by Adrian Smith of SOM architects, it was built to shift Dubai's economy from oil to tourism and business. The tower holds multiple world records and its design was inspired by the Hymenocallis flower native to the region.
